Abbey Bowman (she/they)

The information below is offered to help you determine if I am the best fit for you or your organization:  â€‹

I'm a white, cis woman of Celtic decent with a variety of privileged and marginalized identities. In my work, I "center the most impacted"  meaning I take into account the systems of oppression that are operating within our internal or external conflicts and offer support to those most harmed by the systems first and foremost.

Trained extensively in spiritual modalities, primarily working with Ancestors, Spirit Guides and the Elements.

I am a mid-level psychic, which means I pick up more energies in a space then the average person but not as much as many psychics.

I've had a Spirit Sickness which took me out of ordinary reality for an extended period of time.  Spending involuntary time in non-ordinary reality required me to hone the skill of coming back to ordinary reality and how to navigate both worlds. â€‹

Philosophy and Communications degree and mediator since 2014, I've worked in a wide variety of conflict resolution settings.  I have over 1000 hours of direct mediation/facilitation experience with identity-based, interpersonal, legal, community, workplace and organizational matters.

I've held roles within government, non-profit and private practice conflict resolution organizations.  I have a strong relationship with Oregon mediation networks, businesses and past clients. I utilize my range of experiences from an entry level employee to leadership roles to help inform my consulting for organizational culture shifts so that they meet the needs of everyone involved.

A foundational co-contributor of creating Equity Informed Mediation with Resolutions Northwest in 2018.  I have over 400 hours of teaching experience and am a qualified lead trainer for Basic Mediation Training.

I've crafted an understanding of the overt and nuanced ways my variety of identities impact the people I work with and the spaces I'm in.  Though I will not know all impacts, I spend time with clients to understand what ways working with me may or may not serve them or the situation.

I've struggled with addiction and alcoholism which provided the compounding traumas that go with them such as; bouts with houselessness, justice-involvement, physical/sexual assault, anxiety and depression.  The lessons I've learned with overcoming these struggles reinforce for me how human we are and that we cannot shame ourselves into healing.
